CleanABLE

Launched in 2010, CleanABLE is operated by adults with developmental disabilities who we call Partners. Partners of this business are contracted to provide the quality care and cleaning of toys used in the behavioural therapies of children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. This successful enterprise provides services to two of Surrey Place Centre’s locations and operates in the early evenings three days per week.

While this model is similar to those of the Lemon & Allspice Cookery and the Coffee Sheds, the Partners at CleanABLE work independently with minimal support from Job Coaches. This demonstrates that with the right type of structure, persons with developmental disabilities can contribute and thrive in certain workplace environments.
